About the artist

Alexander Millar

Best known for his traditional 'gadgies', Alexander Millar has been creating these much loved characters for over 20 years. His ability to capture a time, a place, a sentiment and an emotion through the stance of one, two of three individuals, often with their backs to the viewer, is true skill. More recent figures have included golfers, firefighters, stars from the silver screen and even Peaky Blinders anti-heroes.

When you buy something from an artist you’re buying more than an object. You’re buying hundreds of hours of errors and experimentation. You’re buying years of frustration and moments of pure joy.
You’re not buying just one thing, you are buying a piece of heart, a piece of soul… a small piece of someone else’s life.
