Once upon a time there was a bear. A very special bear. Perched on a cosy sheepskin rug, his arm raised in a wave, almost inviting a hug, his irresistibly cute ears and nose and uplifting colours captured the attention of everyone who walked through the door at ArtÓ.
One day, while enjoying a holiday with some of his smaller bear friends, basking in the sunshine of the window looking out onto Brewery Yard, he captured someone’s heart. She asked to buy the bear. We were sad to see him go, but knew he was going to a home where he would be appreciated and treasured and maybe even gain a name.
We lovingly packaged up the bear ready for his journey north to his new home, ensuring he was safe and secure. On 23 November we said goodbye to him at our local Evri collection point, confident he would arrive at his destination within a couple of days. His new owner was excited, as were we on her behalf.
The bear, a highly collectible BE@RBRICK 1000% Andy Warhol x Jean-Michel Basquiat design, never arrived. He’s been missing since 25 November and our persistent attempts to find him and hold Evri to account have so far been in vain.
We care about this bear. He brought smiles to our faces at ArtÓ and we couldn’t have been more delighted to see him bring joy to someone else. But now we feel as if he is, absurdly, a cast member of Home Alone, forgotten or lost like Kevin when he should be safe under the Christmas tree.
We’re not giving up on this bear. We’ll keep up our efforts to find him and feel so lucky that our customer has been so patient and understanding. We believe in a positive outlook and radiating good energy but we’re passionate too. We want the bear back so he can settle into his new home in time for Christmas.
So, Evri, what are you going to do to make this right?
